Mission & Aim
LT's mission & aim is to remain transparent,
impartial, & yet discerning in all matters, regarding
the information it provides to its community &
the wider community in its endeavour to provide safe
open discussion in further understanding current lesbian
& women's issues in a compassionate, empathic
environment, where truth & the stories of our
lives are paramount to the well-being of living a
life full of respect, friendship & love for each
other.
Philosophy
LT's philosophy is to maintain parity, with the upmost
respect of each individual's right to freedom &
expression of their feelings in a non-judgement manner,
regardless of gender. LT believes in empowerment of
all genders in equal measure; however LT is produced
primarily to provide an honest, aware, safe space
for women's voices to be heard on all areas of interest.
Financial Transparency
Financial Transparency, LT is: voluntarily &
interdependently produced; non party political; not
aligned with any religious organisation; not responsible
to any commercial or advertising interests; not aligned
with any entity (organisation, business, person/s)
that accepts money on behalf of LT; LT does not endorse
or promote any particular entity and therefore does
not accept paid or unpaid advertisements; LT is an
impartial non-profit entity & does not have a
bank account to accept or pay any money.
Founding of LT
LT or lesbiantribune.com was co-founded in mid May
2004 by Helen
Pasley (HP) & Linda
Paterson — who have shared a friendship,
since the late 1980's. We believed it would be a good
idea to start a web based information site for lesbians
living in SA & lesbians who may be visiting South
Australia ... here it is! We hope you enjoy your visits
& garner invaluable information & inspiration
from the LT web.
